IT pro have produced a useful analysis report evaluating whether we should be fearful of cloud. They look at a range of factors from the impact on the mainframe to the state of the cloud market.
Happy new year!
The guardian provides a useful summary of the current spat in Silicon Valley about whether last year was a lost year for technology – concluding that Cloud Computing was the key game-changer technology whose impact the media continues to downplay…
“Cloud computing is what turns the tablet and the smartphone into viable devices. And underpinning cloud computing and most of the shiny stuff we take for granted – from the web to Skype to Facebook to the iTunes Store to eBay to Amazon to Google – is the good ol internet, which was created in the 1960s and 70s with public money and no expectation of profit.”

I’m excited to be presenting at “The Exchange 2013 – Knowledge Peers” on the 28th November. Not only is it at the Kia Oval (which I drive past regularly so am looking forward to getting the tour inside), but also because their focus is on networking with smaller and medium sized organisations. I am of the opinion that cloud computing will offer more valuable and exciting opportunities for SMEs than large organisations so I am looking forward to connecting with many more small organisations at the event.
I hope you can join me there!
Will.
